Myfortic is used to prevent organ rejection in children aged 5 and up who have had a kidney transplant and have been on it for at least 6 months. In addition to cyclosporine and corticosteroids, Myfortic will be taken.
Description
Sodium mycophenolic Myfortic (mycophenolic acid) delayed-release tablets are an enteric formulation of mycophenolate sodium that provides mycophenolic acid as the active component (MPA). Myfortic is a drug that suppresses the immune system. MPA is chemically defined as (E)-6-(4-hydroxy-6-methoxy-7-methyl-3-oxo-1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran-5-yl)-4-methylhex-4enoic acid sodium salt (E)-6-(4-hydroxy-6-methoxy-7-methyl-3-oxo-1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran-5-yl)-4-methylhex-4enoic acid sodium salt
